  2. Exercise One
    1. PART A
      1. Make several text frames.
      2. Fill one with placeholder text.
      3. Shrink the frame to half its original size so the text overflows.
      4. Link it to another frame.
      5. Thread the text through several other frames.
      6. Show the text thread.
      7. Resize the frames and watch what happens with the text.
      8. Delete all the frames.
    1. PART B
      1. Repeat the exercise starting with one text frame and creating all other necessary frames just from the overlow symbol.

    1. Create a letter sized document.
    2. Add several text frames.
    3. Fill them with placeholder text and break into several paragraphs.

  10. Exercise Four
    1. Open SF sample file.
    2. Move Palm Tree -100 mm horizontally.
    3. Step and repeat the Palm Tree image 6 times every 25 mm.
    4. Scale up the bottom two photos by 15% and stagger the placement. Readjust the text frame to restore balance.
    5. Rotate the title "san francisco" 5 degrees. Adjust the placement.
    6. Shear the bridge picture frame by -10 degrees but not the content.

      1. Go to pages 2 and 3 of the SF Brochure. Don't adjust the oval picture.
      2. Change the size of several rectangular pictures by shrinking them.
      3. Try shrinking the frame and the content together.
      4. Try shrinking just the content and then adjust the frame.
      5. Rotate, scale and shear the images to "loosen" up the layout.
      6. Adjust text as needed.

  16. Exercise Six
    1. Navigate to Page 4
    2. PART A
      1. Flip several images horizontally.
      2. Loosen up the layout rotating and scaling with the free transform tool.
      3. Try changing the reference point.
      4. Now try shearing with a change of reference point.
    3. PART B
      1. Use direct select to reshape the frames and further loosen up the layout.
      2. Duplicate and flip the title vertically, change the color and shear so it appears to be reflection or shadow.
